Attending the Women in Green Forum today at the Pasadena Convention Center.  I was lucky enough to be invited to escort two Environmental Charter High School students to the event. (Big thanks to Shangri-La Construction and Women in Green Forum who sponsored us to attend!)

Heard an amazing lineup of speakers this morning from Sarah Backhouse from Planet 100, Maggie L. Fox from the Alliance for Climate Protection, Gloria Ruben who is an actor and activist with the Alliance for Climate Protection and finally the only male at the conference (and one who did a great job addressing a powerful group of women) Jon Picard from the US Green Building Council.

I am attending a talk on Organic Food with Kristen Richmond, the Founder of Revolution Foods who is talking about foods within our school systems.  She is so compelling. 75% of the students they serve are low income students.  Amazing!  Did you know they started in 2005 with about 500 fresh meals served a day, this past year they served 50,000 meals a day.  All over California and just launched DC and Denver.

Mary Sue Milliken, the founder of Border Grill, talked about the importance of working with local farmers and eating healthier meals.  She was so interesting and another reminder of why we need to eat healthy.

Next up, Women’ in Green Lunch with Sect. Bonnie Reiss from the Ca Air Resources Board, Mary Nichols from the CA Air Resources Board, Councilwoman Jan Perry and Dr. Geraldine Knatz, Exec Director of the Port of Long Beach!
