We like to say “Everyday is Earth Day” but our world has deemed April is the only month to celebrate, especially in Los Angeles, our Mother Earth. So, here are some great suggestions of interesting events that know how to celebrate our Mother’s Month the right way!

Artisinal LA: As the website says “Artisanal LA is a weekend long community event celebrating the city’s finest local, sustainable and handmade edibles. Taste, shop, sample and learn while supporting the local economy and local artisanal vendors at our seasonal shows and pop-up shops. ” This event has some great presentations like “How Farmer’s Markets are Made & Managed”, Bread Making, Demo from Ani’s Raw Food Asia, Setting an Eco-Table, Beekeeping and more.

Go Green Expo: A three-day event happening at the LA Convention Center. Friday is press day, probably the best day to get around this show with minimal crowds.

LA Green Drinks Earth Night Event: LA Green Drinks LA and NY host their fourth annual Earth Day Event. Last year, we volunteered at the Surfrider Rise Above Plastics booth and took part in this event. We are excited to attend again this year. This is a good way to celebrate Earth Day with other like-minded people in LA.

Celebrate Compassion Over Killing’s “LA Veg Week” by gathering with fellow veg friends to wine, dine, and celebrate our compassionate and healthy lifestyle together, all while encouraging all of LA to go veg! Whole Foods Do Something Reel Film Festival: This looks amazing! For Earth Month, Whole Food is featuring six films in seven cities. Some highlighted films include: “Bag It” movie about getting rid of plastic bags (can you say “Rise Above?”), “Planeat”, “Lunch Line” and more. We can’t wait to see the movie about Bees called “Vanishing of the Bees”.

Mar Vista Green Garden Showcase: This free event showcases all of the green and “Ocean Friendly” gardens in Mar Vista, just one town east of Venice, CA. Grab a bike and see all of the drought tolerant landscapes and edible gardens.
