Agents99 produced RETHINK: GREEN Charity Event on Saturday, November 6, 2010 to raise awareness and funds for Environmental Charter Schools & Green Ambassadors Institute to offer green education nationwide. RETHINK: GREEN Charity Event took place at a private outdoor/indoor property called Blackwelder LA, located in Culver City, CA. The event attracted over 600+ attendees and raised over $85,000 and additional grant funding for the charity. Also, the event included over 90+ media attendees with over 1,000,000 media impressions for the charity.

Top celebs and VIPs on the solar powered green carpet included Ed Begley Jr., Rachelle Carson Begley, Lisa Ling, MTV’s Buried Life Crew, David De Rothchild, Anna Getty, Heroes James Kyson Lee, One Life to Live’s Peter Reckell, Nia Peoples, Ray Charles Jr, Shanica Knowles and more. Planet Green’s Boise Thomas & Darren Moore donated their time as Emcee’s of the event. Music featured The MakePeace Brothers, KCRW’s DJ Valida and Rey Fresco Band.

Lisa Ling appeared on “Good Day LA” one day prior to the event and spoke about Environmental Charter Schools and the event reaching over 500,000 viewers in Los Angeles.

RETHINK: GREEN Charity Event gathered top companies and tastemakers in the green market to celebrate and raise awareness for green education. The event was designed to teach attendees in a very entertaining way to ‘Rethink Green’ at home, work and throughout our daily lives. Interactions included: An eco-friendly fine art show with top artists such as Shepard Fairey, Chris Jordan, Tanya Clarke, Jodi Fuchs, organic wine, spirits, beer and food, an eco-inspired silent auction, interactive educational booths, Rise Above Plastics art installation by Otis Design School and more.
The event featured the Green Ambassadors Award Ceremony honoring 10 top environmental leaders including: Matt Petersen from Global Green, Mark Gold from Heal the Bay, Jim Moriarity from Surfrider Foundation, Filmmaker Davis Guggenheim, Charles Moore, Anna Cummins, Marcus Erikson from Algalita Marine Research Foundation and more.

The silent auction included all eco-friendly items to help attendees rethink they way the shop, eat, live and work. Items included: Bamboo Keyboard and Mouse, Compost Bin, Roosevelt Hotel Stay, Sustainable Wine Tour, Everpure Water Filter, Arbor Snowboard, Aveda Spa Package, Eco-Friendly Clothing, Solar iPhone Charger, Air Purifier, surf lessons, Ecousable Bottles, To Go Ware Package and much more.
Sponsors took active roles in the fundraising event to include: Sungevity Solar announced a fundraising program for ECS. For every homeowner who signs up for solar in the next year, a $1000 donation is made to ECS, LA Car Guy provided a photo booth, tarot card reader and sweepstakes by Earth Friendly Products.

The event featured organic and sustainable food provided by Green Truck, Veggie Grill, One World Vegetarian Cuisine, Taste Buds Cupcakes, Maria Elena Horchata and all produce donated by Weiser Family Farms and Jame Farms. Organic and biodynamic wine/beer was provided by Venice Beach Wines, Bottle Rock Wine, Frey Wine and Schlagl Beer. Organic Spirits provided by Organic Nation Vodka and FAIR Trade Spirits Vodka. Drinks were provided by Naked Juice and Izze. On site at the eevent attendees enjoyed the Spa services provided by Aveda and Green Bliss Eco Spa. Also, earth-conscious disposable tableware was provided by Wasara.

The waste generated by the event was managed by Sustainable Works, a service by the City of Santa Monica. All waste was recycled & composted and the entire event ran on solar provided by Pure Power Distribution.
